Alumni Council Visual Arts Administration M.A. Program Award (by nomination only) 
Awarded annually to a graduating student in the Visual Arts Administration M.A. Program who has demonstrated excellence in course work, internships, service to the community and leadership in arts administration. $500 stipend.

Governor and Mrs. Herbert Lehman Art Therapy Prize (by nomination only) 
Awarded to a graduating student or students in the M.A. in Art Therapy program for excellence in scholarship, research, and clinical work, and outstanding program participation. $200 stipend.

Student Excellence Awards (by nomination only) 
In recognition of fine academic performance and out-of-the ordinary community spirit. $100 book gift certificate.

Program-specific Awards: MFA and Visual Arts Administration M.S. students, respectively

MFA Artistic Practice Awards (by application)
MFA in Studio Art students may apply for the Artistic Practice Award (up to $500 as a one-time award given once during your graduate career) to support a project such as a class assignment, studio work, exhibition, and/or other professional opportunity at NYU or elsewhere. (Note: MFA students are only eligible to receive this award once during their graduate career and must plan accordingly.)

Each MFA student may apply for limited financial support on an annual basis generously provided by the Department of Art & Art Professions.

To be considered for funding, students should submit a proposal via application form that indicates the nature of the project and addresses the stated criteria.

Visual Arts Administration (VAA) Alumni Council Professional Conference Grant (by application)
For students in the Visual Arts Administration M.A. Program, this is a competitive grant that will reimburse a current VAA program student for fees and expenses to attend a professional conference of her/his choice for professional development purposes up to an amount of $500. There are two deadlines: one for professional development activity in the fall and one for the spring semester. Contact Prof. Carlo Lamagna for details.

Visual Arts Administration (VAA) Alumni Council Study Abroad Award (by application)
For a student in the Visual Arts Administration M.A. Program, this offers an award of $1,000 to a student in the program who is attending our study abroad program in June. The deadline is typically in the spring. Contact Prof. Carlo Lamagna for details.


The Department of Art and Art Professions offers scholarship opportunities for currently enrolled students in the MFA and BFA in Studio Art programs. Approximate Deadline: February 

An email announcement will be also sent to all Studio Art majors.

Jack Goodman Scholarship for Art and Technology
Three tuition scholarships of $1,000 each awarded to undergraduate and/or graduate studio art majors whose work is of the highest quality in the area of art and technology (digital, photography, video).

Martin Wong Scholarship
Three tuition scholarships of $1,500, $2,000 and $2,500 each will be awarded to currently enrolled undergraduate and/or graduate studio art majors whose work demonstrates exceptional promise. Students working in painting and drawing, sculpture, ceramics, and printmaking are invited to apply.

May and Samuel Rudin Foundation Multimedia Technology Scholarship
Awarded to undergraduate and/or graduate studio art majors who show evidence of extraordinary potential for artistic achievement in current and developing technologies. Applicants must also demonstrate financial need (as determined by the Office of Financial Aid).
