Huiying B. Chan

Research and Policy Analyst, EJ-ROC

Huiying B. Chan is the Research and Policy Analyst on the Education Justice Research and Organizing Collaborative (EJ-ROC) team at the NYU Metro Center. Their research work centers culturally responsive education and racial equity in public schools with an intersectional lens, driven by and for youth and parents. Huiying comes to this work as a life-long New Yorker and graduate of NYC public schools, with a deep grassroots organizing background, having worked in the immigrant rights and housing movement locally and nationally as both a community and digital organizer. Huiying earned a B.A. in Ethnic Studies and Education from Wellesley College, where they were the first to graduate with an Ethnic Studies major since the college's inception.
