Paloma Garcia is NYU Metro Center’s Chief of Staff. In this role, Paloma provides leadership to a collaborative effort with fellow directors to create a tailored and strategic communication plan to strengthen and expand public awareness of the Center’s 14 centers, programs, and projects and the contributions they make in the world of educational equity and school change. 

Before joining the NYU Metro Center team, Paloma worked as the Program Associate at the Center for Educational Equity at Teachers College, Columbia University. Prior to that, she served as an Americorps member in Little Rock, AR, and Los Angeles, CA. Paloma Garcia has nearly a decades worth of experience working with educational justice and equity non-profits in various roles including communications, capacity building, and direct service. 

Paloma earned her M.A in Sociology and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University and received her B.S in Psychology and English from Santa Clara University.
