NYU Metro Center Launches Innovations in Equity and Systemic Change (IESC)

NYU Metro Center Technical Assistance Center on Disproportionality (TAC-D) says farewell after 15 years of existing through a contract with the New York State Education Department (NYSED). Over those 15 years, TAC-D was honored to partner with 75 school districts in New York State and provide regional trainings to 70 districts. TAC-D was graced by many individuals in districts and schools who supported this work, and championed to fight for equity and justice. The work of TAC-D would not have been possible without you!

Moving forward, NYU Metro Center’s Educational Equity Project is excited to launch Innovations in Equity and Systemic Change (IESC), a restructuring of TAC-D, offering educational institutions customized systemic equity work, including utilizing a set of tools and expertise to assist districts and schools in reducing disparities in the assessment, placement, and outcomes of students across race, socioeconomic status, and abilities in general and special education.

IESC provides professional development, technical assistance, and consultancy to disrupt, dismantle, and eliminate disproportionality by building the capacity of educators to implement Culturally Responsive Sustainable Equity-Based Systems that meet the needs of all students and families. NYU Metro Center IESC is excited about partnering with districts and schools to continue fight for equity and justice.
