Steinhardt Student Challenge Grants

The Office of Research is pleased to announce the call for the Steinhardt School Student Challenge Grants. The Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development established these grants to provide support for the work that you are undertaking and hope such support will help lay the foundation for larger-scale funding from public and private external sources.  We encourage applications for The Steinhardt School Challenge Fund from all students who did not receive an award from the Fund in the 2014-15 competition.

Funded projects will be up to one year in duration for the next academic year (starting September 1, 2016). Awards range from $1,000 to $1,500.

Doctoral Research Grant – These awards provide up to $1,500 in total costs to support doctoral research toward degree requirements. An approved dissertation proposal is required.

Phi Delta Kappa Doctoral Dissertation Award  – This award provides $1,200 for the completion of a dissertation in the area of educational leadership, teaching and learning, or music education. An approved dissertation proposal is required.

Undergraduate and Master’s Students Research/Creative Projects – These awards provide up to $1,000 in total costs and support outstanding undergraduate or master’s students at NYU Steinhardt conducting a research study or creative project, under the supervision of a faculty member.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURES: The complete RFP’s and application materials are currently posted on the Office of Research’s website. Full proposals are due March 11, 2016. I will be available to assist students with budget preparation, proposal production, etc.  If you have questions please attend one of the information sessions (February 4, 2016 from 11am-12pm or February 17, 2016 from 3:30-4:30pm). You are not required to attend an info session to be eligible to apply for funding but if you plan to attend, please register.
