The Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development Graduate Student Organization (GSO), the Office of Research, and the Office of Student Affairs are enthusiastic sponsors of the Research and Scholarship Showcase. The 7th Annual Showcase will take place on April 17, 2019, beginning at 10:00 AM in the Grand Hall of the Center for Academic and Spiritual Life.
Join us to witness the wide range of research being conducted by students (from all degree levels) at NYU Steinhardt. There will be oral presentations, traditional poster presentations, and poster presentations with a multimedia component. Let’s Talk is a program to meet new friends, and explore different topics of international concern. This month our discussion will center around diversity in the international student community, center on API food, as well as a wrap-up session on this year’s Let’s Talk topics and suggestions for next year.

Let’s Talk International is a semi-structured discussion group and safe space for study abroad returnees, international students, third culture kids, and anybody interested in international/intercultural experiences to explore topics such as identity development, cultural adjustment, cross-cultural relationships, and general navigation of life across cultures.
While topics and short activities provide a framework, students drive the conversation in directions most relevant to them. Continued attendance is encouraged, though students are not required to attend all sessions.

Are you wondering what life after college will be like? It’s time to put your skills to work and test your financial knowledge. You are exclusively invited by NYU Financial Education to attend the Game of Life…After NYU held at Kimmel 914 on Friday, April 12, 2019,from 5pm-8 pm. The event is an hour long, interactive financial decision-making fair that illustrates basic personal financial management skills. Based on the information provided on the registration form (desired occupation, desired career), students will be given a financial profile, which will include an estimated salary. They will then visit various tables around the room (such as housing, transportation, etc) and use the salary to ‘pay’ for the expenses. This will be a great day! There will be food and prizes, but more importantly you will learn a lot about budgeting and finance.

The Office of Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Strategic Innovation invites students to join faculty and staff in a discussion about confronting and navigating racism at NYU. This is an opportunity to develop goals and strategies to address racism both in and outside of the classroom. The open dialogue sessions will allow participants to join in peer-to-peer engagement, to offer recommendations and next steps for addressing racism at NYU from an individual and structural perspective. Recommendations will be shared with the university as we continue to address racism and other forms of bias. Two different sessions will be offered for graduate students (April 3rd from 4-6pm) and for undergraduate students (April 3rd from 7-9pm). Click here to RSVP.
